Shower

A shower is a place in which a person bathes under a spray of typically warm or hot water. Indoors, there is a drain in the floor. Most showers have temperature, spray pressure and adjustable showerhead nozzle settings.

The simplest showers have a swivelling nozzle aiming down on the user, while more complex showers have a showerhead connected to a hose that has a mounting bracket. This allows the showerer to spray the water at different parts of their body. A shower can be installed in a small shower stall or bathtub with a plastic shower curtain or door.

Showering is common in Western culture due to the efficiency of using it compared to a bathtub. Its use in hygiene is therefore common practice. A shower uses less water on average than a bath: 80 litres for a shower compared to 150 litres for a bath.

History

The original showers were neither indoor structures nor man-made, but were common natural formations: waterfalls. The falling water rinsed the bathers completely clean and was more efficient than bathing in a traditional basin, which required manual transport of both fresh and waste water. Ancient people began to reproduce these natural phenomena by pouring jugs of water, often very cold, over themselves after washing. There has been evidence of early upper class Egyptian and Mesopotamians having indoor shower rooms where servants would bathe them in the privacy of their own homes. However, these were rudimentary by modern standards, having rudimentary drainage systems and water was carried, not pumped, into the room.

Shower (film)

Shower (洗澡) is a 1999 Chinese comedy-drama film directed by Zhang Yang and starring Zhu Xu, Pu Cunxin and Jiang Wu. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on 14 September 1999 and won the FIPRESCI Prize. Though only the second directorial work by Zhang and the third production of Imar Film, Shower was selected for numerous film festivals, including San Sebastian Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and Seattle International Film Festival, where it received many awards.

Written by Zhang and a team of young scriptwriters, the film revolves around a family-run bathhouse in Beijing. An aged father and his younger, mentally challenged son have been working hard every day to keep the bathhouse running for a motley group of regular customers. When his elder son, who left years ago to seek his fortune in the southern city of Shenzhen, abruptly returns one day, it once again puts under stress the long-broken father-son ties. Presented as a light-hearted comedy, Shower explores the value of family, friendship, and tradition.

"Shower" is a song by American singer Becky G from her upcoming debut studio album. It was released on April 23, 2014 by Kemosabe Records and RCA Records as the lead single from the record. The song was written by Becky G, Dr. Luke, Cirkut and Rock City and it was produced by Dr. Luke and Cirkut. It is Becky's first top 20 hit in the United States. The official remix features American rapper Tyga.

Background and release

"Shower" was released for retail via digital distribution, on April 23, 2014. The audio for the song was also uploaded to YouTube and VEVO, on the same day of its release.

Composition

Musically, "Shower" is a teen pop and melodic rap song. Lyrically, the song is a "breezy ode to first love". Becky G herself has said that "Everyone can relate to the song, even if you don't understand the words."

Music video

The video was released on June 29, 2014 via VEVO, being uploaded on YouTube in the following day. It features a cameo appearance by American rapper T. Mills. Becky G explained the concept: "We wanted to capture moments of feeling good, and me personally when I feel good is when I'm hanging out with friends or that special person. It’s a party basically..."MTV described the visuals as "carefree". As of January 2016, the music video of "Shower" has over 213 million views on Youtube.

Crypto++ (also known as CryptoPP, libcrypto++, and libcryptopp) is a free and open source C++ class library of cryptographic algorithms and schemes written by Wei Dai. Crypto++ has been widely used in academia, student projects, open source and non-commercial projects, as well as businesses. Released in 1995, the library fully supports 32-bit and 64-bit architectures for many major operating systems and platforms, including Android (using STLport), Apple (Mac OS X and iOS), BSD, Cygwin, IBM AIX and S/390, Linux, MinGW, Solaris, Windows, Windows Phone and Windows RT. Algorithms

Crypto++ ordinarily provides complete cryptographic implementations, and often includes less popular, less frequently-used schemes. International Cryptology Conference

CRYPTO, the International Cryptology Conference, is one of the largest academic conferences in cryptography and cryptanalysis. It is organized by the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR), and it is held yearly in August in Santa Barbara, California at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

The first CRYPTO was held in 1981. It was the first major conference on cryptology, and was all the more important because relations between government, industry and academia were rather tense. Encryption was considered a very sensitive subject and the coming together of delegates from different countries was unheard-of at the time. The initiative for the formation of the IACR came during CRYPTO '82, and CRYPTO '83 was the first IACR sponsored conference.
